CBI yet to quiz co-accused MGF

The Central Bureau of Investigation seems to be going easy on Emaar PJSC and its Indian subsidiary Emaar MGF, the co-acc-used in the Emaar scam. The apex investigating agency has not made any serious effort to interrogate Emaar PJSC chairman Mohd. Ali Alabbar, who is also chairman of Emaar MGF, and Emaar MGF managing director Shravan Gupta. CBI joint director V. Lakshminarayana said that the probe does not cover the role of Emaar and MGF so far.
“We will see,” Mr Lakshminarayana said when asked about CBI questioning the top brass of the two companies. Sources said that MGF enjoys a close rapport with powerful friends. “The Vigilance and Enforcement department, within its limited scope, established that the staff members of Mr Gupta were shown to be allottees of villa plots in the integrated golf course and residential project,” sources told this correspondent.
