World’s leading non-fiction media firm Discovery Communications — through its popular Discovery Channel — will telecast across India from Nov 22 six episodes on how future cities will be, a company official Thursday said.

ADAG’s Reliance Broadcast Network chief Anil Ambani, in collaboration with CBS Studios International, is planning to launch an English channel that will bring to India TV shows of sassy Judge Judy, cooking show hosted by Rachael Ray and other top rated shows including Blue Bloods. Most of the shows are exclusive and will not be available on any other channel in India.

Views of police force, success stories of investigators, workout schedule for securitymen and legal advice for them will be on air daily if a suggestion to launch an exclusive police TV channel is accepted by the government. The idea was floated during the two-day conference of Directors General and Inspectors General of police forces of the country here and it was supported by many of the top police officers.

Anil Ambani-owned Reliance Broadcast Network Ltd on Wednesday announced a 50:50 Joint Venture with CBS Studios International, part of CBS Corporation, to launch three new English entertainment channels in India. The joint venture company, named Big CBS Network Pvt Ltd, will launch English entertainment channels in the fourth quarter of 2010, offering audiences immediate access to new and current CBS programs including some of the most popular TV programs.
